More DC Comics Content On Its Way With A Possible Streaming Service

We’re watching TV and films in different ways now thanks to streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Now it looks like Warner Bros want to get into the game as WB chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara spoke to investors at a conference with some good news if you’re fans of DC Comics, Harry Potter and Lego with some of this content going straight to consumers.

Tsujihara stated the importance having these huge franchises are to the studio and comparing it to Disney.

What The Wrap reported next should be music to DC Comics fans ears, saying “Tsujihara also underscored Warner Bros.’ stepped-up direct-to-consumer efforts, mentioning its recent acquisition of gaming-focused Machinima. He said the studio’s been working on that line of business, hinting at a potential dedicated DC Comics product to capitalize on its “rabid” fan base.”

“’We’ve been working on that quite feverishly over the past 12 months,’ he said of Warner Bros.’ direct-to-consumer pipeline” the report added.

As a fan of the DC product from animated to movies, I was hoping they’d strike a similar Marvel/Netflix deal with Amazon or Netflix so there’d be more content. However, it looks like Warner Bros and Time Warner are just going to skip all that and start their known streaming service, which is AWESOME!

I hope this happens and I’d happily pay a monthly subscription if it meant getting all of the animated series, animated films, TV shows and movies all in one place with bonus content from upcoming projects.

Fans of Harry Potter and Lego should also get excited as this means, as well as films, we could be getting more content like TV shows set in the magical world of Potter and Fantastic Beasts and animated Cartoon Network shows for Lego.

Also, bring back Looney Toons to the big screen!
