Ben Affleck Surprisingly Talks About The Sad Affleck Meme

Despite the fact there are plenty of fans (including myself) who liked or loved Batman v Superman, there’s no point to bury your head in the sand and fully accept that the Zack Snyder-directed comic book film wasn’t well received (I’m being nice) by critics.

During the fallout, which was happening the same time as the press tour, the #SadAffleck meme was born. A Youtuber laid the iconic Simon and Garfunkel song ‘Sound of Silence’ over an interview where Affleck just looked completely bummed out and just so sad, as Henry Cavill talked about the film’s negative reviews.

While I feel really bad and sorry for him, this is funny.

I was fully expecting no one would ever ask him about it or he would EVER talk about it. So to my surprise, Affleck ACTUALLY talked about it and made fun of it.

Affleck appeared on BBC Radio 1’s “Movies That Made Me” during his press tour for Live By Night and Ali Plumb asked the 44-year-old was about what he learnt as a director and actor when working on the little Indie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

His response? Never to do interviews with Henry Cavill and let him talk.

Affleck joked “It taught me not to do interviews with Henry Cavill where I don’t say anything and can lay Simon & Garfunkel tracks over it.

“That’s one thing I learned.”

He also revealed the props he was able to keep from BvS and they’re pretty awesome.

Meanwhile, I’d highly recommend everyone who lives in the UK to watch the full interview as Affleck looking like he was having a great time and was making jokes.
