For many, many years people have been speculating if every Pixar film is set in one universe. Today we finally learnt the truth.

In the only film news story you should really care about today, Disney released a video that referenced every Easter egg to each film from the most recent Finding Dory to Toy Story.

The video below was uploaded on Disney’s Toy Story Facebook page and it confirms these Disney/Pixar films ARE all interconnected in the same universe.

It’s pretty amazing how these references were perfectly underplayed like I didn’t even realise the boy sat in the dentist waiting room was reading an Incredibles magazine.

I’m sure there plenty more hidden gems Disney and Pixar aren’t telling us, but you can’t forget the traditional references, such as:

A113 – A113 has been in every Pixar film and it pays homage to the to the classroom at CalArts where Pixar/Disney executive John Lasseter and director Brad Bird spent most of their days working on their school work. Most famous reference was Andy’s mum’s car in Toy Story.

John Ratzenberger – Lasseter has described actor Ratzenberger as “Pixar’s good luck charm” and has played a role in each Pixar film.

Pizza Planet – Pizza Planet is the pizza restaurant in Toy Story and the truck appears in every Pixar film besides The Incredibles.

The next big Pixar film will be Coco and it taking place on the famous Mexican holiday known as la Dia de los Muertos (The Day of The Dead) and we got a little bit of info about the film.

The film follows 12-year-old Miguel Rivera, who lives in a lively, loud Mexican village, but his family of shoemakers is the only household who HATE music – they think they’re cursed by it after the matriarch of the family was abandoned decades previously by her husband, who follow his dreams of becoming a musician.

Even though music is banned in the Rivera household, Miguel still decides to follow his dreams and follow in the footsteps of his hero, the late singer – Ernesto de la Cruz and when he does, Miguel finds himself in the land of the dead and he encounters some of his own relatives.

The film won’t be a traditional musical but will be packed with songs and music. The film will be in cinemas on December 8, 2017.
