Looks Like We'll Be Celebrating Christmas 2018 With Han Solo

Soon December will be known of two things: Christmas and Star Wars.

After completely dominating December back to back with The Force Awakens in 2015 and Rogue One in 2016, it looks like Lucasfilm and Disney aren’t loosening their grip on the month anytime soon.

Episode 8 was rescheduled from May to December 2017, but for 2018 it looked as if the Han Solo film was going to follow the old Star Wars tradition of releasing in May.

Now it seems everyone at Disney and Lucasfilm aren’t getting bored of making billions of dollars around Christmas as Making Star Wars are reporting of the rumour the Solo spinoff has moved from May to a new release date of 13th December 2018.

If this move does happen then it’s a smart one from Disney as it’s clearly obvious how much money these new Star Wars films are making and the simple fact is they’d make more money in December than competing with the likes of a Marvel, DC or other major franchise in May.

Also, December is now Star Wars’ month no other studio even risks releasing a major film and compete against it.

Aiden Ehrenreich will be taking over as the iconic character from Harrison Ford as the young Han Solo. The film will be directed by The Lego Movie and 21/22 Jump Street’s Phil Lord and Chris Miller.

Joining Ehrenreich will be Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke will be playing an unknown character. Yes, Chewbacca is also in the film.
