For Some Reason We're Getting A Fourth Expendables Film

You didn’t ask for it, but Sylvester Stallone is giving you it anyway. That’s right, we’re getting a fourth Expendables movie.

Two weeks ago there was news a fourth film with these old school action heroes was in the works. Now, on his Facebook vlog, Sly has confirmed The Expendables 4 is official and promises he has a very “different” idea for this sequel.

Because that’s what we want? Seriously who even asked for this?

Anyway, this is what Stallone said on his Facebook post “[The Expendables is] gonna be great fingers crossed. We’re gonna do our best and I think we’ve got some really great attitude going, some great ideas.

“I think everyone’s expecting something different and we’re gonna give it to ‘em’.”

Oh, give me strength.

Stallone didn’t confirm or deny if this film will be the final film in The Expendables in the multimillion franchise.

However, it’s been nearly three years since the third instalment hit cinemas and received a not-so-positive response from critics and audiences. It also shows in the box office as every film is making lot less than the film before it: The Expendables opened in the US at over $34 million to go on to make just over $103 million, Expendables 2 made less opening at over $28.5 million for an overall total of $85 million and finally Expendables 3 made even less opening over $15 million for an overall total $39 million.

Where these films are making all their money is the worldwide box office taking in $804 million (via Box Office Mojo).

So who could star in this fourth film? WWE legend Hulk Hogan, the iconic Jackie Chan and even former James Bond Pierce Brosnan have pitch themselves to join Sly, Arnie and the rest.

As you can hear from the tone of this article, I think this is just a stupid fucking idea. There’s no reason to even talk about making this film let alone Sly talking making something different.

These films are based on old action stars of the 80s who can’t do this shit anymore and those action films aren’t wanted by audiences. The only way for this to make any sense and get a bit of money is to make it a flat out rated R parody taking the piss out of these films and the stupidity of the franchise.
