In the UK we love a lot of things two of them being, LEGO and Batman. So when The LEGO Batman Movie hit cinemas nationwide it’s become a box office smash.
The superb family film earned over £7.9 million (including previews) to land the number one spot in the UK box office.
It wasn’t just in the UK, in the US the film earned an opening weekend box office total of just over $53 million beating two other new releases; Fifty Shades Darker and John Wick: Chapter Two.

All this opening weekend success has made Warner Bros a lot of money to buy more LEGO as it made over $90 million worldwide.
There’s no surprise this film has be a huge hit worldwide as it’s not only a brilliant family film but also a brilliant Batman film and that’s down to director Chris McKay and his team.
I won’t be surprised if LEGO Batman comes close to matching or maybe beating The LEGO Movie’s worldwide total of $469.1 million once the film leaves cinemas.
If you haven’t already, read my review of The LEGO Batman Movie and give yourself a treat and see the film.
