While everyone is losing their minds over Ben Affleck stepping down as a director of The Batman, which I think is a good idea and click here to find out w. Warner Bros are continuing to do their thing within the DCU and cast two roles for Aquaman.
The Hollywood Reporter have stated director James Wan and the studio has found their villain and possibly having an A-lister take the role of Aquaman’s mum.
After spending two weeks meeting and auditioning a number of actors, Wan believes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is the right man to play Black Manta.

THR are reporting Abdul-Mateen, who starred in Baz Luhrmann’s Netflix series The Get Down, is in early talks to don the black wetsuit and the oversized but scary mask for Aquaman.
According to Variety sources, Abdul-Mateen beat out a strong shortlist that included Moonlight breakout star Trevante Rhodes and Corey Hawkins, who is starring in 24: Legacy.
I have no doubt Rhodes and Hawkins will be on the shortlist for the role of John Stewart in Green Lantern Corps.
To give some brief insight to who is Black Manta, he first appeared in the comics in 1967 and was an antagonist to the King of Atlantis and stand out because of his unique battle-suit, trident and deadly schemes.

The offer was sent to Abdul-Mateen on Monday (30th January) and all parties are in talks now.
However, it wasn’t just Black Manta Warner Bros had an eye on casting because THR also broke the news Nicole Kidman is in early negotiations Aquaman’s mother.

In traditional Aquaman history, Arthur Curry’s mother is Atlanna, who is part of royalty for the underwater kingdom of Atlantis, but she escapes and falls for a lighthouse keeper and she gives birth to a son and he’ll become the bridge between the surface world and Atlantis.
According to THR the deal looks optimistic of being done and has been Wan’s top choice for weeks and an offer was sent on Monday.
If Abdul-Mateen and Kidman do join the cast with Jason Momoa in the title role, Amber Heard playing the royal love interest Mera and Willem Dafoe is playing Aquaman’s adviser and scientist Dr Vulko. Patrick Wilson, who has been involved a star of Wan’s previous movies, will play Orm, who happens to be Aquaman’s villainous half-brother.
