I love Batman v Superman it gets better and better every time I watch it, however, I’m not blinded by the fact plenty of fans and critics didn’t like it. On the other hand, there were two things everyone who saw the film did love – Ben Affleck as Batman and the kick ass Wonder Woman theme.
Quite frankly the entire film score is incredible and should’ve been nominated for plenty of awards. The whole Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL score can be rounded up to one score, Is She With You? aka the Wonder Woman theme.
As the top comment on Youtube says “The moment where Batman and Superman become sidekicks.”
It’s easily one of the most iconic themes and intros in any superhero film and fans were excited to hear the riff at the end of the first Wonder Woman trailer knowing it’ll be in the film in some way.
Nearly for the past year listening to the score on and off, I’ve always wondered who played this kick ass theme and that incredibly catchy riff at the beginning and always thinking it was an electric guitar, gladly I couldn’t be more wrong.
It turns out it was never an electric guitar, but an electric cello played by the beautiful and extremely talented Tina Guo and Newsledge recently interviewed the heavy mental cellist.

When asked about bringing Wonder Woman to life through music and more importantly the first person ever to do so on the big screen, Guo replied.
“I’m so honoured that Hans asked me to play the Wonder Woman theme! It’s exciting and fun, and I love playing the part of a badass female warrior!”
Even though she can’t say much, Tina did confirm she’s returning to for the soundtrack for Wonder Woman’s solo film working alongside composer Rupert Gregson-Williams: “Yes, we have been recording for the WW film – I can’t say more for now, but I can say that I’m so excited to see and hear the film movie” said Guo.
Recently, Tina posted videos on Twitter of herself jamming and HELL YES they sound as badass and metal as you were hoping of!

Personally, I’m super excited to hear her finished Wonder Woman single and what she’s got for us when the film comes out this summer, but also I’m seeing Hans Zimmer live in London on the 15th June (13 days after Wonder Woman is released in cinemas) and I just hope to hear Tina play the theme.
Since 31-year-old comes from the school of Hans Zimmer any chance to see her maybe compose a future DCU film? I’d love to see and hear it and be good to see Warner Bros have talented people a chance.
After giving this some thought, there’s only one character that could benefit from have such a raw rock/heavy metal soundtrack and score – Aquaman!
Just think about it. With how badass Jason Momoa looks as the King of Atlantis and having James Wan helming the film, which should be full of high seas/underwater adventure having an awesome rock’n’roll soundtrack would suit the film perfectly.
