Iron Man 4: Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer Released & My Thoughts

Yesterday (28th March) the brand new trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming and while it was great, it was basically a trailer for Iron Man 4.

That being said I enjoyed the trailer a lot, it reminded me of the animated series back in the 90s, which is only a good thing and I’m looking forward to seeing Tom Holland be the high school Peter Parker and Spider-Man we’ve been wanting.

In all seriousness,  for a sequel give me a Spider-Man/ Ferris Bullers Day Off film, where Parker has to skip school to take on the Sinister 6.

However, this trailer basically gave the whole film away and it’s more Tony Stark/Iron Man heavy then I originally thought.

Don’t get me wrong, I get it, Robert Downey Jr is a box office magnet when it comes to Marvel Studios (because he can’t sell anything else), but shouldn’t you be selling the film on Spider-Man who is in everyone’s top five favourite superheroes of all time, he’s my second favourite behind Batman.

Prediction – Tony Stark will have the classic “great power” speech or something similar.

On the other hand, they’ve rebooted the character multiple times now and Sony Pictures NEEDS this film to be a success because they need the money and the flaming s**t known as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 have left us with a major bad taste in our mouths.

However, the fact this is the Parker we all grew up with and loved coming to the big screen is just brilliant and I do think some general audiences will see this as a PG-13 wise-cracking version of Deadpool.

Minus Holland’s bring the character to life, the other major selling point is Michael Keaton as the villain Vulture. If there’s one actor to make a decent villain in the cinematic universe, which has had just bollocks villains besides Loki, is Keaton!

He just seems to be a middle class, working man who hates the rich, powerful Stark ruining the life and take away his livelihood. Which is something a lot of kids and teenagers will recognise with something that could be going on with their parents.

Finally, besides the fact, I feel like I’ve been the condensed version of the film. I’m still looking forward to seeing Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into July 7.
