The highly popular indie comic series Invincible will be the next massive superhero blockbuster.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will be teaming up once again to write, direct and produce the movie adaptation of Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) Image Comic for Universal.

The comic series follows 17-year-old Mark Grayson, a normal high school student but what makes him different to his fellow students – his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet known as Omni-Man. Meanwhile, inheriting his own set of superpowers.

This could be a fantastic opportunity for Universal as this could be the start of an Image comic cinematic universe – joining the other Universal franchises, Fast and the Furious, Jurassic World and Monsters – as Invincible could be a trilogy and help bring start up the superhero team called Teen Team.

It just depends on what direction Rogen and Goldberg take it as they love their comic books and keeping to the source material, which means this could be an R-rated film.
