Deadpool Animated Series In The Works And It's Definatly Not For Kids

Just when you thought it was safe to rebuild the fourth wall before Deadpool 2 comes out, but it’s now pointless as we’re getting an adult animated Deadpool series.

Marvel has announced that FX sister channel FXX has placed a series order for an animated adult action-comedy for Deadpool, which will run for 10 episodes and debut in 2018.

What’s even more exciting is Donald Glover will be writing and producing the series alongside his brother, Stephen. Donald is becoming more and more of a well-known figure in Hollywood thanks to this brilliant FX series Atlanta.

Not only will he be appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming this summer, but also starring as a young Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars young Han Solo film and finally he will be Simba in Jon Favreau’s The Lion King.

FX has had a pretty decent run with Marvel properties recently with Legion getting plenty of critical success and being praised as one of the best shows this year. Another good reason to be excited is FXX is the home of one of the best-animated comedy series in recent years, Archer.

The head of Marvel TV, Jeph Loeb said in the announcement “How much more fun could this be?

“Deadpool, Donald and FX – the perfect fit for the Merc with the Mouth! We’re thrilled that our relationship with FX that started with Legion continues with what is sure to be a groundbreaking show in adult animation.”

I agree with Loeb, this is something fans should be excited about and 10 episodes are perfect and I can see this airing in the early part of 2018 before Deadpool 2 is released in June 2018.

Furthermore, I think is has been in the works for a while at Marvel and the Glover brothers have written most of the series now because animation takes a long time and it won’t be too long until we hear who’s been cast in the lead roles.
