I’m not big on hyperbole, but I think it’s sort of awesome to say Wonder Woman saved the DC Extended Universe and now Geoff Johns is going back to the comics usher in a new success for this universe.
Despite everyone being wrong on Man of Steel (it’s a fantastic movie) and liking Batman v Superman Suicide Squad, the massive week two drop offs weren’t a great sign for things to come and added pressure was then on Wonder Woman.
Fantastically, it’s a massive success and had the lowest second-week drop-off of any current superhero film and while talking to The Wrap, DC Entertainment President Johns gave an insight into what’s to come in the DCEU.

It was all about looking back to the DC legacy and their heroes qualities that made people love them in the first place.
“Get to the essence of the character and make the movies fun. Just make sure that the characters are the characters with heart, humor, hope, heroics, and optimism at the base,” said Johns.
It’s because of this sentence, it was a smart move for Warner Bros to pair Johns with producer Jon Berg to run the DC Films division.
Those five words are what describe Wonder Woman best, plus we’ll likely see this when Superman is reborn in Justice League.

Don’t get me wrong, I love MoS because I fully understood and like the Clark Kent/Superman and it was the origin story we needed, but after all his struggles throughout both MoS and BvS, it’s time for the character to come full circle and rebirth into the symbol of hope the world needs and fight crime with a smile and heart as he has a second chance to live life to the fullest.
However, these five words may work to make a fun, entertaining Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman movies, but I want to see Matt Reeves’ The Batman led by Ben Affleck be this entertaining blockbuster with a dark, thrilleresque edge to it.
