Tom Holland has confirmed Spider-Man: Homecoming will be the beginning of a new trilogy with Marvel Studios.

It shouldn’t be a major surprise as a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming is already being worked on with a slated release to hit US cinemas on July 5, 2019, and now Spidery himself Holland has confirmed he’ll be following in the footsteps of Iron Man and Captain America and getting his own trilogy of films.

The 21-year-old star revealed to French-based Allocine (via Google Translate) about the characters future plans and where we could see him moving forward.

“There is still a lot of room for Peter Parker and Spider-Man, especially, to grow in the next two movies. He’s defiantly not the finished article by the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming and I really look forward to exploring the different ways he can grow up and… go through puberty I guess.

“It’s going to be an exciting couple of movies,” added Holland.

He was then asked to clarify his quote and if he meant just solo Spider-Man films or two films, Holland said “Yes, there will be Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming 3… Yeah, well now you know, sorry Marvel. Whoops!”
