After mildly disappointing season one, but did end strongly. Yet the one big issue I had with the first season of Legends was it didn’t know what it wanted to be, however, in season two we finally know what the show is meant to be…. enjoyable entertainment. In Season Two, the Legends of Tomorrow face off against the first ever team of DC Super-Villains: the Legion of Doom. After saving the world from Vandal Savage and the corrupt Time Masters, the Legends are now charged with protecting time itself, taking them across history and up against the power of the Spear of Destiny – a threat unlike any humanity has ever known.

It got rid a lot of things that didn’t work and replace them with things that did and then some in the form of the Legion, who instead of the dull, pressure of Vandal Savage (Casper Crump), bringing in Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn), McDonough (Damon Darhk) and Letscher (Reverse Flash) brought an enjoyable, compelling villains.

Rip Hunter (Darvill) plays a much different role this season. After being benched for the first half of the season with his whereabouts a mystery, his absences forces White Canary (Lotz) to take lead as captain of the ship and the show. This was an incredibly smart choice by the show’s producers with Sara’s years of experience within DCTV Universe (both Legends and Arrow) and it shows with this being another element of this shows strength.
When Rip finally does reappear using him as an antagonist to the team this season instead of an ally.

As for the other members – newbie Nate Heywood (Nick Zano) brings a modern-day everyman enjoyment, Atom (Routh) is the shows big brother, Vixen (Richardson-Sellers) is another strong character to the mix.
Richardson-Sellers had an issue early on with being introduced as a new version of the character after her “recasting” and the writers did it the smartest way possible and it worked brilliantly with this time-traveling show.

After Captain Cold’s (Wentworth Miller) death in season one, it gave Heat Wave (Purcell) the most compelling story arc of any character on the show with him trying to figure out who he is and where he belongs especially within the Legend. The arc becomes more critical in the final few episodes of the season.
As for highlight episodes – The crossover with WWII-era Justice Society brought fun, the Invasion is a great way to bring the whole DCTV Universe together and I personally enjoyed Camelot/3000.

Personal hope for Season Three is we have more Star Girl (Sarah Grey).
Verdict
Season Two is far superior to its previous with enjoying episodes and brilliant performances from the whole cast.
