Black Panther 2 Ideas

With Black Panther smashing the box office and beloved by basically everyone, all eyes and audience questions will be when can we visit Wakanda again?

It’ll be May with Infinity War but as a solo sequel the best guess is post-Avengers 4 and I do think it’ll be either 2020 or 2021 joining the only other post-Avengers 4 movies, Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel and Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

I’m going to give my best guess as to what we could see in the future sequel because why the fuck not and obviously SPOILERS will be in the story.

One of the best things about Black Panther was the villains of Michael B Jordan as Erik Killmonger and Ulysses Klaue played by Andy Serkis. However, both characters died which was quite surprising especially in MBJ’s case.

So now who could be the antagonists for the sequel and I believe we could see two villains again showing up. The first one that comes to mind is Daniel Kaluuya as W’Kabi, historically he’s T’Challa’s right-hand man and best friend.

While this was shown in Black Panther, he also lost faith in T’Challa and sided with Killmonger even taking his tribe into battle against Black Panther and the Dora Milaje.

It’ll be great to see him return with even more hated for T’Challa and maybe even separated from Danai Gurira’s Okoye who chooses the King and her country over him as it was shown in the battle scene.

The villain in mind is Kraven The Hunter. Before you say, yes, I know he’s a Spider-Man villain, but Kraven has had run-ins with a number of different Marvel characters over the years.

However, during press for Black Panther, director Ryan Coolger said “I’ve always loved Kraven the Hunter in almost every iteration.

“So there was a moment – ‘Can I grab Kraven?’ – and they were ‘Nah, you don’t have Kraven.’ He was one where I thought ‘Oh, man.’ But I didn’t know if he would have worked in the movie we ended up with, this was the early days” he explained to Yahoo Movies.

Kraven (aka Sergei Kravinoff) is a Russian big game hunter and it would make sense if he went to Wakanda (now revealed to the world) to hunt their animals.

Furthermore, introducing Kraven in Black Panther could be used for the bigger goal of having him as the main antagonist for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in a future instalment. You could even use a post credit scene of Kravinoff going to New York.

Now, Omega Underground’s Christopher Marc has posted some interesting idea of introducing one Marvel character that fans have been waiting for years and that’s Namor.

It would sort of work if Marvel used Namor similar to the Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok in the sense you won’t give him his own standalone film as his rights at Universal but introduce Atlantis/Atlas in Avengers 4 and we meet Namor in Black Panther 2.

Christopher is using Namor as the villain for the sequel, while I’d use him more as a trusted alias being both leaders from secret parts of the world. However, I would play the long story with The Sub-Mariner not trusting/hating mankind as they are destroying the ocean to the point he gets fed up and threats them to clean up their act.

As for directing, Marvel and Kevin Feige are obviously hoping Coolger returns to direct the sequel, but it seems more and more likely he’s going to be busy with other projects with Bond 25 looking like a real possibility, though I’d chose him for Bond 26 and start fresh with a new 007.

The likelihood is that is that the 31-year-old director will be attached to the Black Panther sequel as an Executive Producer much like with Creed.
