It's Wakanda Forever! As Black Panther Owns The US Box Office With $200+ Million Opening Weekend

Wakanda Forever!! As Black Panther completely owned the US box office with a MASSIVE four day opening debut.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe movie has become the fifth largest opening of all time taking $242 million (updated from $235 million this morning!) over the four days where America has Presidents Day. The three-day weekend numbers are great too as Black Panther made over $201 million (via Box Office Mojo).

Ryan Coolger’s director superhero flick is only the fifth movie ever to cross $200 million in its opening weekend joining Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Jurassic World and Avengers Assemble.

Black Panther is already the 25th highest grossing comic book movie of all-time and the 12th highest grossing MCU film additionally it’s made $14 million more in four days in the US then Justice League did in its whole run.

Worldwide it made $169 million to make an overall worldwide box office of $404 million.

So it’s safe to say a Black Panther sequel is already greenlit and now let’s see if Black Panther becomes the highest grossing Marvel Cinematic Universe movie ever and to be honest I wouldn’t be surprised if it does beat the two Avengers movies.
