It's A Ballroom Blitz When The Suicide Squad Trailer is Involved

"We're bad guys, it's what we do.."

A new Suicide Squad was released last night during the MTV Movie Awards (extended repeats shown tonight on MTV at 8pm) and it’s brilliant.

The film is about a group of bad guys recruited and assigned to take on a mission by the government, led by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), which will most likely get them killed.

The word people are describing it is ‘fun’ and it really is, from the beautiful visionary to yet another 70’s pop song being used (this time it was ‘Ballroom Blitz’, you probably know it if you’ve seen The Rocky Horror Show & Wayne's World) and it’s safe to say everyone will be in love with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, if they haven’t already.

The trailer also show’s a lot more of Katana (Karen Fukuhara) and Killer Croc (Adwale Akinnuoye – Agbaje) who looks terrifying. We also got a lot more Batman (who has a brief cameo) and it looks like a smart move by Warner Bros, because despite how you feel about Batman v Superman, everyone agrees Ben Affleck’s Batman so the best thing in it, and it looks like he’ll feature more in the flashbacks with The Joker (Jared Leto) and Harley Quinn. Is that Joker in Wayne Manor?

This new Blitz trailer just follows from its predecessor with this is going to be a completely different tone to Dawn of Justice and it’s a good thing. It’s still going to be a dark film in tone, but with a cast playing all villains and you throw the Joker in there the humour and jokes will be fun and funny. I think Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) could surprise a lot of people by how funny he is.

If you were worried about the news of them going back to do reshoots, don’t be as director David Ayer took to Twitter to let fans know:

Suicide Squad hits UK cinemas on Friday 5th August.

The film also stars: Will Smith, Joel Kinnaman, Jay Hernandez, Adam Beach, Cara Delevingne, Ike Barinholtz and Scott Eastwood.

It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity.  U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do.  However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
