LET'S HOPE YOU HAVE GOOD INSURANCE WHEN THESE TWO COME TO TOWN |
The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider revealed WB has moved Gareth Edwards’
sequel to his 2014 “Godzilla” from 8th June 2018 to March 22 2019. While WB has
also given a date to the big screen creature fight “Godzilla vs Kong” of May 29th
2020.
Furthermore, the studio will release an untitled event film on the 25th December 2018 and moving an untitled DC film from June 19th 2020 to 24th July 2020.

The decision to move Godzilla 2 seems like a smart one has
it would have originally been up against Paramount’s “Transformers 6,” who both
cater to the same audience, and will now face off with another Paramount film “Amusement
Park,” which will be animated and seen by a younger audience.
The monster beat them up/mash up “Godzilla vs Kong” has
currently got that release date to itself with the only film slated for that
month is an untitled Marvel movie in the beginning of May.
Elsewhere, Warner Bros’ event film will open against a live –
action Disney movie, which also opens Xmas 2018 and Sony’s animated “Spider-Man”
currently set to release four days earlier on Dec 21st.
Since America doesn’t celebrate Christmas like us Brits, it
looks like they’ll be spending a great day at the cinema and I won’t be
surprised if Sony pushes this animated “Spider-Man” to the beginning of December
or January 2019.
