Brad Peyton To Direct James Wan's Malignant Man

What happens when you get one of the hottest directors working in Hollywood today and team him up with the director of last summers surprising action blockbuster? You get Malignant Man produced by James Wan and directed by San Andreas’ Brad Peyton.

I’ll do my best to describe Malignant Man as he has an odd origin story but via Boom! Studios I’ve got some sort of synopsis.

“What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! Alan Gates, a cancer patient with a terminal diagnosis, is resigned to his fate...until he discovers that his tumour is actually a mysterious parasite! Granted a second lease on life and incredible, otherworldly powers, Alan must fight against an evil army buried beneath society’s skin, all the while unlocking the secrets of his forgotten past.”

Are you lost? Welcome to the club.

Wan came up with the story for Boom! Studios and based on the comic Wan co-created and Boom! Studios will be handling the distribution of the film alongside 20th Century Fox.

Peyton is wrapping up filming of his Netflix series, Frontier set in the 18th Century and is set to reunite with Dwayne Johnson for the adaptation of the video game Rampage.

What do you think? Is this something different you want to see from comic books and does having Wan involved excite you? Let me know in the comments below or tweet me @Shaun_Wren.
