Disney Flies In Brand New Pete's Dragon Trailer and Poster

Following the huge success of The Jungle Book, Disney has gone back to its long list of movies and has brought Pete’s Dragon into live action with a brand new trailer.

This latest Disney offering is hoping to get parents feeling nostalgic and hope they remember 1977 original and how goofy it was and also getting their kids to fall in love with the dragon.

The story introduces us to a lovely man named Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) who has delighted local children for years with tales of a fierce dragon that lives in the deep forests in the Pacific Northwest. His daughter Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard) thinks of these as nothing more than tall tales… Until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley), a mysterious 10-year-old boy with no family or home and lives in the forest with a furry, green dragon named Elliott. So are Meacham’s stories closer to reality than Grace thought?

I only time I remember possibly watching the original Pete’s Dragon was when it was TV once, but that was when I was a kid. Ultimately the trailer looks charming and the dragon does look super cute, I’m just not as hyped as I was with The Jungle Book earlier this year and the young boy who’s playing Pete just looks like a white version of Mowgli.

Pete’s Dragon flies into UK cinemas on August 12th.
