Donald Glover has been fancasted in Spider-Man since Andrew
Garfield got the role back in 2010, but now nerds around the world can
celebrate they’ve finally got their wish Donald Glover will be joining
Spider-Man: Homecoming (I seriously hate that title).
According to Deadline, the role is being kept under wraps,
but it’s great to see him finally in the spidey-universe. He joins Tom Holland,
who makes his standalone debut after appearing in Captain America: Civil War,
as well as Marisa Tomei, who returns as Aunt May.
Then you have The First Avenger: Captain America actor
Kenneth Choi (the first actor to appear in two Marvel films as different
characters) recently cast as the school headmaster, and Michael Barbieri, Tony
Revolori and Zendaya, will all be friends to our friendly neighbourhood superhero.
Let’s not forget Robert Downey Jr. will be making an appearance and trade quips
with Holland.
There’s also rumours of Michael Keaton will be playing the villain likely to be The Vulture, but nothing has been confirmed yet. However, it does look, it’s a done deal.
I’m not sure I think filming as just started or it beginnings
shortly and directed by Jon Watts.
I really like this casting as fans have also wanted to be
Miles Morales, but even though it looks unlikely he could play an older verison of that character or a relative. He’s a great talent could play a number of different roles.
I also suspect we’ll get a lot more info about the full cast
and who they’ll be playing at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
