When Marvel struck a deal with Sony for Spider-Man to come back home and be used in in the MCU it was revealed 20 year old Tom Holland will be playing Peter Parker.  Then at this year’s CinemaCon Holland took to the stage to unveil Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Slow but surely director Jon Watts is assembling his young cast including Zendaya, Tony Revolori and Laura Harrier, and thanks to an exclusive by Heroic Hollywood, now they can add 14 year old Michael Barbieri.

Homecoming will tell the story of Parker, post-Civil War, back in Queens as he tries to juggle the stresses of high school, family (alongside Marisa Tomei’s Aunt May) and some bigger threats.

The story will be skipping the usual backstory (Uncle Ben dies and with great power etc. etc.) and will instead focus on Parker really trying to master his abilities. He’ll great some help from Tony Stark, as Robert Downey Jr will be appearing in the film, and will face problems for a mystery villain (but rumoured to be the Vulture played by Michael Keaton).

This is the second big franchise Barbieri will be filming as he’s part of the cast of The Dark Tower starring Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to release on July 7th 2017.
