Joe Manganiello Talks About What Can Expect From Ben Affleck's Batman

It’s been an interesting time for Ben Affleck’s solo Batman adventure, after a rumour broke the script was a mess, however, this “rumour” was nothing more than “I spoke to someone, who spoke to other people, who said the script was a mess.”

On the other hand, this is Ben Affleck who’s writing and directing this DCU film. Until someone reliable says anything different I’m going to trust the man who has won Oscars for screenwriting and directing.

Speaking recently to pro wrestling announcer Mark Madden'spodcast, Deathstroke himself Joe Manganiello talked about working with Affleck and what we can expect from The Batman.

“When I met Ben we sat down and talked about, you know, the role. We talked about the movie” said Manganiello.

“His take is a fresh take, but I think the audience is going to be surprised. Because it’s a road take no one’s really gone down that’s completely integral to, you know, who Batman is. And I think it’s gonna be refreshing, but at the same time completely familiar.

“But it’s going to take this franchise in a direction that I think A LOT of people are going to be really happy about. It’s going to be gritty and action packed and cerebral and all those elements that people love about Batman” Manganiello added.

I really love hearing Manganiello’s last sentence because one of the major things I like about DC Films is their grittiness and tone. So I’m glad Affleck is staying in that sandbox and I’m interested in what this fresh take is and the integral thing we haven’t seen in previous Batman’s.

I have a few guesses: we’ll see Batman locked up in Arkham Asylum during a prison breakout. We’ll finally get to see the detective side to Batman in a film. Or this Batman has finally met his match in every possible way and will end the film with him barely surviving.

If it’s just one of them then awesome this Batman film will make a crap tonne of money. If it’s all of these things then JESUS CHRIST this Batman film is going to be F**KING INCREDIBLE.

The next time we’ll see The Dark Knight will be in Justice League (but don’t rule out a cameo in Wonder Woman) and it’ll hit cinemas November 17, 2017.
