Eddie Jones Mixes Experience & Youth For England's Autumn International Squad

Eddie Jones has revealed his 34-man England squad for the Autumn International and he’s brought in a mix of senior players and youngsters.

Exeter Chiefs back-row Sam Simmonds has been rewarded for his superb early season form with his first England call-up and with Bath’s Zach Mercer and Sam Underhill have pushed out British & Irish Lion James Haskell.

Meanwhile, prop Joe Marler has been left out after being suspended for matches against Argentina and Australia.

The other uncapped player in the squad is Bath hooker Tom Dunn and the other casualties were Northampton pair Tom Wood and Teimana Harrison and Harlequins winger Marland Yarde.

Yarde’s Quins team-mate 18-year-old fly-half Marcus Smith and 20-year-old Mercer have been included in the squad as apprentices after both have impressed in the early part of the season.

They won’t be part of England’s matchday squad, but they will be involved in the training and preparation of the three-match series.

Despite being sent home from England’s training camp in August for disciplinary reasons, Denny Solomona has scored five tries in the Aviva Premiership and this earned him to be included.

England take on Argentina on November 11, before play Australia on 18th November and their final game is against Samoa on 25th November. All games will take place at Twickenham.
