It’s been no secret that Disney has been wanting to do a live-action Star Wars TV series, Bob Iger revealed that last November, and it looks like we could be getting more than we thought.

Yesterday (Tuesday 6th February) Disney CEO Iger told investors the company will be developing more than one Star Wars TV series with them being “close to revealing at least one of the producing teams behind one of the projects.”

During earnings call (via The Hollywood Reporter), Iger said “We developing not just one, but a few Star Wars series specifically for the Disney direct-to-consumer app. We’ve mentioned that and we are close to being able to reveal at least one of the entities that is developing that for us.

“Because the deal isn’t completely closed, we can’t be specific about that. I think you’ll find the level of talent… on the television front will be rather significant as well” added Iger.

My guess is this first announcement will be the new animated series from Dave Filoni once Star Wars: Rebels has finished, but it won’t be too much longer until will get official news about an Underworld series focusing on the crime lords and smugglers of Star Wars.
