Yesterday, DC Entertainment’s new streaming service The DC Universe was teasing fans (including me) about some big news and now we’ve gotten all the info about it and it’s everything I ever wanted?
However, just skipping through their beautiful website (which includes a new look at a beaten up Robin from the Titans TV series) I’m kinda/a lot pissed about the news it’s only going to be available in the US and not in the UK/worldwide.

That annoyance aside, I think every DC fan around the world will definitely be getting excited and knowing they’ll be getting their money’s worth.
Because not only will we be getting brand new exclusive TV series like Titans, Doom Patrol and the James Wan-produced Swamp Thing in the live action world. In animation, the return of Young Justice with their third season Young Justice: Outsiders and a brand new Harley Quinn series.

As aspected, the animated films like The Dark Knight Returns are on their way and will be joined by the classic animated series like Justice League and Batman: The Animated Series.
Staying with classic TV all the old school series are being added like the iconic Lynda Carter Wonder Woman and Adam West’s Batman. Then most recently Smallville and cancelled Constantine.
They might be a wait for the CW shows as they have a deal with Netflix.
Meanwhile, we’ll be getting all the classic films from Richard Donner’s Superman and Tim Burton’s Batman but also Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy and the current DCU films.
Elsewhere, as well as watching DC, we’ll also be able to read all of the best classic and modern digital comics.
Which DC Entertainment publisher Dan DiDio explained why they wanted to add comics as part of the service and we will be able to download to read on the go or honestly on the toilet.
"We wanted the DC UNIVERSE comic reader to be a blend of art and technology that would further enhance fans' experience of the live-action and animated programming on DC Universe.
"This hand-curated selection from our decades of comic creations gives fans a thematic digital longbox to carry with them on the device of their choosing or lets them watch exclusive video content on the big screen followed by the comic that inspired it" added DiDio.

Members will be able to buy merchandise from an exclusive store because paying a monthly fee isn’t enough. Then there’ll be forums where people will argue endlessly and competitions to win shit like tickets to exclusive events (cough Premieres cough).
Finally, DC Universe will work on all devices from Laptops and iPads to Apple TV, Amazon Fire.
Jim Lee, DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer, had a few words to say about this excitement about the new streaming service.
“DC Universe is so much more than a streaming service. It’s a welcoming place for everyone to immerse themselves in their own level of DC fandom, with the epic characters, stories, and experiences they have come to expect from DC” said Lee.
“We are investing in and creating original, high-quality shows including the new Titans series, and curating the most beloved nostalgic content, while at the same time elevating the comic reading experience to new heights. Nothing this robust has ever been offered to fans before.”

There’s no news on price and when DC Universe will be available, but I won’t be surprised if we learn this at San Diego Comic-Con and click here for more info on DC Universe.
