I wasn’t sure what to expect from Tag, the trailer interested me but my expectations were still low as I just thought it would be a laugh and it’s certainly was that and more.
I had such a good time that Tag could be one of my favourite comedies of 2018.

Who knew a simple story of about five friends who meet up every May every year as they play a no-holds-barred game of tag since they were kids risking their bodies, jobs and relationships all so they run around their hometown to take each other down with the battle cry: “You’re It!”
The cast is a big reason why the story and film overall works so well. As always, Helms is solid and Hamm continues to impress from his decent performance in Baby Driver. However, the standout performance is Fisher as the Helm’s incredibly intense and competitive wife Anna, which shouldn’t and isn’t surprising.

Elsewhere, I enjoyed Tomsic directing style especially when it came to making Renner like some badass ninja with the slow-mo and soundtrack.

It is a simple story and it’s nothing groundbreaking yet it is a good time at the movies and does have heart showing the meaning of friendship especially with your childhood ones as you grow old.
Additionally, with a $26 million budget it’s already made its money in the US box office and with the worldwide BO but I wouldn’t want a sequel New Line/Warner Bros so please don’t make one!
