It’s easy to describe Hell In Cell as a second tier Pay Per View and it doesn’t help with the fact it has one of the worst posters I’ve seen for a while. Plus, when you look at the card it easily more of a Smackdown PPV then Raw because it’s honestly better.
Raw Tag Team Championship – Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre (c) vs Set Rollins & Dean Ambrose
It would make sense for this title match to kick off the show as it’s likely both teams will be involved in the main event.
Additionally, this could be a brilliant tag match to make the Raw titles actually mean something since The Bar lost them at Wrestlemania.
As for the match itself, Ziggler and McIntyre have been a dominant force since their pairing and it’s only a matter of time before the big Scot will become a major main event star if he’s not already.
However, I can see the titles changing hands on the bases that Rollins as the IC championship and Roman Reigns is the Universal champion which leaves their Shield brother without any gold and with the US title on Smackdown the only championship he could go for without turning heel is the Raw tag championship.
On the other hand, you can’t damage the trio of Ziggler, McIntyre and Braun Strowman too much and since they’ve just won the titles two weeks ago against The B Team I can’t see them losing the strap too soon.
Jeff Hardy vs Randy Orton (Hell In A Cell)
The reason why I’m putting this match on the card second is to get it out of the way.
I have little interest despite liking what Orton has been doing as an older, more focused version of his Legend killer character.
The reason why this is inside the cell is so we can see Hardy jump off the top as this is the last thing he needs to do before completing his set of jumping off high shit. However, it’s odd this isn’t a triple threat featuring Shinsuke Nakamura’s US title (which isn’t on the card at all unless they do some sort of open challenge).
I can only see an Orton win to not only help his character but also it means Jeff can be off TV for a while and return as Brother Nero.
Smackdown Tag Team Championship – The New Day (c) vs Rusev Day (Rusev & Aiden English)
The pick is who will join Big E for the defence and I’d say a good pick is Xavier Woods.
As for the match itself, I can see it being highly entertaining, but I think The Bar would’ve been a better choice but I think the creative team is waiting to build the feud between New Day and Sheamus & Cesaro for a Royal Rumble.
I love Rusev and Rusev Day has been massively over but this feels all a little too late and should’ve had the belts earlier in the year, but now I can’t see anything but a New Day victory.
Raw Women’s Championship – Ronda Rousey (c) vs Alexa Bliss
I’m sure Vince wouldn’t put Ronda so far down the card but this is the least important match of the two women’s title this time around.
The reason being I don’t think fans believe Bliss has any chance due to the fact “The Baddest Women On The Planet” completely squashed her at Summerslam. I don’t have an issue with that Rousey impresses me in the ring and she brings people into WWE.
However, similar to Summerslam this will probably be a quick one, as Bliss will be gearing up to face the legend Trish Stratus at Evolution and Ronda will defend her title on the all women’s PPV.
Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella vs The Miz and Maryse
We all know what Bryan and Miz can do in the ring together has highlighted in their Summerslam match, this match will be all eyes on the two mothers.
Both women have been away from the ring for a while becoming mums and I think these two stars will be the main focus of the match.
This could be a dead rubber as Bryan and Miz will be fighting at the Super Show-Down to become number one contender for the WWE Championship, which brings questions over that title later on in the night.
Because if AJ wins then Miz will become the No.1 contender and if Joe wins then it’ll be Bryan.
So just because I think they will as they'll want Brie to look good going into Evolution where we could see a one-on-one rematch against Maryse, I’m going for Bryan and Bella.
Smackdown Women’s Championship – Charlotte Flair (c) vs Becky Lynch
Depending on how you see it, this is either the top or second top feud going on in the main roster alongside AJ and Joe and should be inside HIAC.
The Becky heel turn was needed and wonderful to see and overnight had become the Stone Cold Steve Austin fans will cheer for (sorry Ronda) but I love that creative team nor Lynch herself has become an anti-hero, she is still a villain of this feud despite what fans think or want.
Continuing on this logic I do think to help her character Lynch will win but not the title as it’ll continue the feud to when Lynch finally becomes champion at Evolution.
I’d like to state I’m not a 100% sure on this as this title match is one of three that could change hands but I think it’d be better not giving the fans what they want just yet.
Prediction – Becky Lynch wins via DQ with Charlotte retaining the Smackdown Women’s Championship

WWE Championship – AJ Styles (c) vs Samoa Joe
This feud has been everything and more with Joe becoming a horror character targeting Styles and his family.
As stated above one of the top feuds going on the main roster currently.
The big issue is AJ is the face of the video game and you can’t have your champion and face lose the title a couple of weeks before the release and at this point, Vince might want to keep the title on him so Styles can break CM Punks record.
Then again this could be the moment Joe wins as they do already have a title match booked at the Super Show-Down which happens the week before the games released.
Additionally, it’ll make Samoa Joe even creepier and Style more insane.
Universal Championship – Roman Reigns (c) vs Braun Strowman (Hell In A Cell & Mick Foley as Special Guest Referee)
Now I have no idea why they needed to put Foley in this match just so he could promote his WWE network special and it being 20 years since his infamous match with The Undertaker.
As for this match, I’m sure both Ziggler and McIntyre and Roman’s Shield brothers will be involved at some point.
Honestly, after three years of battling Brock Lensar to finally win at Summerslam there is sadly no way in hell that Reigns will be losing the belt to Strawman making the monster join the list of unsuccessful cash-ins.
I’m expecting it to be a battling and bruising match but Roman with a little help will bring the Monster down.
Prediction – Roman Reigns wins and retains the Universal Championship
