To say the anticipation for the upcoming Ghostbusters remake is low is an understatement with the first trailer becoming the most disliked trailer in YouTube history and the other trailers unable to wow fans either and it has the possibility to be this summers box office flop.
Sony has now released 90 second character clips to help
fans of the franchise to have more belief is film can be a success.
Let’s start with Bridemaids star Melissa McCarthy, who describes
her character Abby as “a believer” and people have always made fun of her.
Check the clip below.
Next up is McCarthy’s Bridesmaids co-star Kristen Wiig whose character Erin is a quantum physicist and wants nothing more than to be successful and respected in the real world according to co-star Leslie Jones.
Let’s move on to Saturday Night Live’s Jones, who plays Patty, and we find out more into her background.
Jones explains, “They meet Patty because he shows up at their headquarters saying she had been chased by a ghost” adding “She saw what they were talking about, so she knows that it’s real.”
Finally, we meet Kate McKinnon’s Jillian (aka Holtzman) and
McKinnon describes her character as “a genius, she’s bizarre; she’s in charge
of perfecting the machinery. Yes, this is the closest character to myself,
which I have ever played.”
The only character clip that has given me any hope in this film is McCarthy. That’s not to say I’m not rooting for the film to be a success, I am as I’m a fan of Paul Feig, it’s just I haven’t found any of the trailers funny or making me want to see it more.
I maybe and hoping to be surprised and leave the cinema thinking
it’s a brilliant comedy and everyone will love it and also give a big FUCK YOU
to all the sexists and make crap ton of money.
