20th Century Fox has a shit time at making Fantastic Four films, so instead of giving in to fans demands to let it return to Marvel and become part of the MCU.
Fox have decided to give it another go, this time focusing on one of the most famous villains in Marvel and comic book history – Doctor Doom.
Fargo and most recently Legion showrunner Noah Hawley has revealed at San Diego Comic Con he is developing a solo film based on Victor Von Doom.

“I’ll say just two words. The first one id Doctor and the next one is Doom” he told the crowd (via Variety).
Hawley is a highly respected bloke in TV due to the success of both Fargo and Legion due to their creative and intelligent storytelling and this good will should set aside some doubt for the meantime.
Furthermore, Fox has had some success with thinking outside the Superhero bubble with box office and critical success of Logan and Deadpool.
With two recent and utterly crap telling’s of Doom’s origin, I think it’ll be a smart idea just to retell the comic book version about the son of a Romani witch and becomes a dictator of the country Latveria and focus on him being a great inventor and sorcerer.

This could also be a smart way of introducing a new Fantastic Four.
