IT Star Jack Dylan Grazer Has Been Cast As Shazam! Best Friend

Every kid grows up wanting to be a superhero (I’m still dreaming to be Batman), but if you can’t be one then why not be best friends with them instead?

According to Deadline, IT star Jack Dylan Grazer has been cast in DC’s upcoming film Shazam!
Grazer will be playing Freddy Freeman, who’s Billy Batson’s best friend and the only person who knows he can transform into Captain Marvel by uttering the famous magic word.

Since his first appearance in 1941, Freddy has come a long way and has even become a superhero in his own right becoming Captain Marvel Jr and then becoming Shazam!

No one knows if Grazer will have superpowers in this first movie, though it seems unlikely has director David F. Sandberg will want to introduce Zachary Levi’s Big Red Cheese (the superhero Asher Angel’s Batson transform into).

Grazer will be joining Mark Strong, who’ll be making a return to the DC family, who’s likely to be playing villain Doctor Sivana and Grace Fulton, who I’m guessing will be his daughter Beautia. Neither casting has been confirmed by the studio.

Filming will begin in February in Toronto and will be hitting US cinemas on April 5, 2019.
