Margot Robbie Has THREE Harley Quinn Movies On The DC Films Table

As Warner Bros continue to move forward with their DCU films despite the change of leadership with Walter Hamada taking control of DC Films production.

The one character that’s important to the franchise is Margot Robbie’s anti-heroine Harley Quinn with plenty of films in line for her to consider.

The Wrap is reporting there could be at least three films that she'll be considering with one of them NOT being David Ayer’s Gotham City Sirens:

The first one will be an obvious choice which is Suicide Squad 2. The film is set to be written by Gavin O’Connor with the likelihood of directing and it could be in production by the Autumn (Fall). The film could be used as an introduction for Dwayne Johnson’s supervillain, Black Adam.

The US trade went on to add that the sequel will focus on the Squad looking for a weapon of mass destruction and that weapon is Black Adam himself.

The next film up for the I, Tonya star is Birds of Prey and is down to Robbie becoming a bit of a DC Comics geek since joining Suicide Squad and is interested in Birds of Prey. The film won’t be Harley solo but instead, have a number of female heroes and villains. So hopefully we’ll see Batgirl, Black Canary and co find and take on Quinn, Catwoman and Poison Ivy aka the Gotham City Sirens.

Bumblebee screenwriter Christina Hodson has been penning a Harley Quinn/Birds of Prey story for Warner Bros and DC Films.

The final project on the table is the twisted love story of Joker vs Harley and is being seen as a Mr and Mrs Smith type of film. It would see Robbie with her Clown Prince of Crime Jared Leto and Crazy, Stupid Love helmers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa would be expecting to both write and direct the film.

Honestly, I think Robbie could do all three of these films, she clearly loves the character and they could story of the growing character of Harley Quinn from the first time we met her in Suicide Squad.

So ideally this Joker vs Harley film should be retitled as Mad Love after the iconic animated episode and comic book. It should take off where Joker broke Harley out of jail at the end of Squad.

Once she kicks Joker out of her life at the end of Joker vs Harley (Mad Love) and back in Belle Reve or Arkham, she rejoins the Suicide Squad for the sequel and after she completes the mission and leaves prison. Finally, Birds of Prey should be the cherry on top as she teams up with the Sirens (begin a relationship with Ivy) and take on or eventually joins the BoP.
