Riptide Wrestling's International Waters Is The Best Wrestling Show Ever

At every show, the Brighthelm is becoming more like home and last week’s Riptide Wrestling’s International Waters is the best show I’ve ever seen!

Not bad for a first birthday. Where we saw Spike Trivet become a style icon, an Aussie possibly needing a new lung and then we could have been witnesses to the death of a small boy.

The matches, the wrestling and the storytelling was incredible. The standout match has to be Walter vs Mike Bailey and this is the best match I have ever seen and it’ll have to take a lot to beat this.

It had everything. The monster taking on the small, strength against speed. When it first started it did look like it was going to be a decently paced squash match, but it didn’t turn out to be as the Speedball using his strong kicks to not only weakening the Austrian’s legs but also as a reply for the big man’s chops.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT Walter’s chops were so loud and felt so painful it made the audience react with Bailey as we felt his pain, but with most things with pain I couldn’t help but laugh.

Let me put it this way, Walter chopped Speedball so hard so many times I was seriously worried he’d be leaving with a collapsed lung!

It looked like Bailey was going to win via count out but the monster Austrian made it seconds before the 10 count. Walter did win in the end to a standing ovation.

The reason why I enjoyed this show is that I got to see wrestlers do their thing for the first time and was excited to see the likes of Eddie Dennis, Jordan Devlin, Walter, Mike Bailey, Millie McKenzie, Bea Priestley and plenty more.

It was great to see Dennis perform and for someone who’s been away for a year with injury, he looked fantastic and can’t wait to for him to make a massive statement with NXT UK. Meanwhile, McKenzie and Priestley were as great as I thought they’d be and when it comes to the latter I’m looking forward to seeing her own ITV and World of Wrestling.

Elsewhere, what Riptide continuously do brilliantly is mixing fantastic wrestling with comedy and the comedy came from the Aussie Open Challenge, which was answered surprisingly by South Pacific Power Trips Travis Banks and TK Cooper.

Additionally, second time answered in the form of Lord Gideon Grey, supporting a moustache but really looked like a cat shat on his upper lip, and Kurtis Chapman who took the day of school to take part in getting a kicking and chopping.

Furthermore, when it comes to storytelling the Jack Sexsmith road to the Brighton Championship has been a fantastic one as after getting redemption against David Starr last month he hit a massive roadblock in the form the style icon and future Brighton Champion Trivet and Money vs Everyone.

It would’ve been great to hear his promo but I had a bloke in an electric wheelchair who repeatedly didn’t shut the fuck up and it got to the point he could’ve ruined the night for me and I wasn’t the only one incredibly pissed off at him.

He continued to go on and on and on and on all fucking night! He generally didn’t know when to shut up as he continued to shout out disgusting, sexist, misogynist chants especially in the Money vs Everyone vs Storm & Priestley and the Charlie Morgan vs Flash Morgan Webster.

The other downside was the heat in the room, I know Riptide couldn’t do anything with the fact with was boiling melting hot and they provided water, which was great. I think it would’ve helped if there was a fire exit door open or maybe find a way to get cold air in the room as everyone both audience and wrestlers were sweating.

Finally, shout out to Rosa Rose who does a fantastic job as the host and may long it continue.
