Space Jam 2 Is Actually Happening With Lebron James Starring & Ryan Coolger Producing

In the famous words of Quad City Dj, “Everybody get up it's time to slam now, We got a real jam goin' down, Welcome to the Space Jam, Here's your chance, do your dance at the Space Jam, Alright....

“Come on and slam, and welcome to the jam.”

That’s right! Space Jam is back as NBA legend Lebron James is making a sequel to one of the greatest kids 90s films ever and not only that he’ll be working alongside Ryan Coolger.

Revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, the Black Panther director has been added to be the producer of Space Jam 2 with James telling THR, “I loved his vision.”

For James to go out and get Coogler, who also helmed Creed and Fruitvale Station, is a major coup to get fans excited as he’ll make sure this is nothing but brilliant.

It has also been revealed Terence Nance will be directing the movie and is best known for creating HBO series Random Acts of Flyness.

The LA Laker will obviously be the lead (taking over from Michael Jordan) and this will be for the benefit of the sequel because as he has shown in the cameo in Trainwreck he’s a better actor.

When talking about the project, James said “The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie.

“It’s so much bigger, I’d just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don’t just give up on their dreams. And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people” the GOAT added.

It’s about time a sequel happened this the original came out 22 years ago and it’s had a number of directors and writers attached with Justin Lin being the most recent and will remain as an executive producer.

No release date has been set and it has a tentative production year of 2019, during the NBA off-season. So King James winning the NBA title with the Lakers this year would give the film a major boost.

As for the professionals, it’ll likely be James’ friends but I think he should see how well Uncle Drew was received and bring in Kyrie Irving. The original introduced us to Lola Bunny (I had a crush on her) and she was the best baller on Tune Squad besides Michael Jordan, so I believe it’s important for the villain squad to have a bad ass female using the powers from one of the best player from the WNBA.

I’m sure idiots would complain but it’ll be important for little girls to see they too could grow up to be professional basketballers and the profile the WNBA would get in the US and worldwide would do get things for the sport.

Additionally, Kevin Hart will likely be involved as either the villain role similar to Danny DeVito or the Wayne Knight role.

Also it needs a random arse Bill Murray cameo. Fuck it, just bring back Bill Murray!

Finally, James’ production company SpringHill Entertainment released an image on Instagram conforming the news. What was interesting with the numbers about it could just be numbers of the jerseys or it could be a hint to a possible March 12, 2021 release, but I’ve got a feeling this will be a 2020 release.
