I heard good things about Book Club, so when I got the chance to review the blu-ray I jumped on it and I’m glad I did because it’s a funny film that everyone should watch, whatever the age.

I heard good things about Book Club, so when I got the chance to review the blu-ray I jumped on it and I’m glad I did because it’s a funny film that everyone should watch, whatever the age.
Book Club follows four lifelong friends, Diane (Keaton), Vivian (Fonda), Sharon (Bergen) and Carol (Steenburgen), whose lives are turned upside down to hilarious ends when their book club attempts to shake things up by tackling the infamous “Fifty Shades of Grey.” From discovering new romance to rekindling old flames, they inspire each other to make their next chapter the best chapter.

The reason this film is so enjoyable is because of the four legendary leads whose chemistry felt like they’re been close Hollywood friends for decades and they just came together to talk but the cameras were on them.
They all brought a different sense of humour to the film from Keaton’s dry but manic to Fonda’s confident and flirty, the straightness of Bergen and the joyful energy of Steenburgen. It all blended so well and help when each individual storyline becomes more dramatic.

I’d also like to state that I now have a massive crush on Steenburgen.
As for the men in the film, they do a great job of balancing with the top man being Garcia and it’s understandable why every woman would full in love with him. However, the funniest moments come from the cameos of Richard Dreyfuss and Wallace Shawn.
I do believe that this could be a fun family to watch with your teenage kids and that despite the film aiming towards the senior demographic it can be enjoyed by everyone.
Verdict
These four icons make the film as enjoyable as it was. Book Club is funny, sweet and heartfelt.
