Last year it was revealed Disney was working towards taking on Netflix by making their own streaming service (this is a big reason why they bought 20th Century Fox).
Now during a shareholders call, Disney CEO Bob Iger unveiled the title for their rival and it was given a simple name of Disney+.

It will be launching in late 2019 and will feature films and series from all the properties the Mouse House owns as well as new series/films from Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar.
Obviously, the brands that’ll get the most hype and people subscribing will be all the new things coming from Star Wars and Marvel.
As it was revealed that a brand new Rogue One prequel will be in the offering with the focus all on Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor and according to a statement by Disney, “[T]he rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy grip of a ruthless Empire.”

This series will be the second coming to the new streaming service as it was announced in October Jon Favreau will be producing The Mandalorian.
The Mandalorian will “follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.” Favreau goes on to confirm it’ll take place between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
The biggest buzz so far for this series is Star Wars legend Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) will be on hand to direct the first episode. Additional episodes will be directed by Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Soulmates), Rebecca Crow (Jessica Jones) and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

Then on the animated side of things, Clones Wars will be coming back after finishing on Cartoon Network five years ago with the story incomplete.
Meanwhile, on the Marvel side, it was confirmed Tom Hiddleston will have a Loki series and there are rumours of a Scarlet Witch series starring Elizabeth Olsen and a Falcon/Winter Soldier is possibly in the works.
Additionally, there are still question marks over the futures of the Marvel series over on Netflix and if they’ll be moving over or not.
Elsewhere, Disney has a Monsters Inc, spin-off series is in development and brand new High School Musical films as well as a live-action Lady and the Tramp starring Tessa Thompson.
On the same day as Disney+ launches in the US, all Disney related content will be removed from Netflix at the same time, but this shouldn’t affect anyone else until 2020.
